OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: The aim is to develop the basic engineering knowledge given in Strength of Materials 1 and to provide the ability to solve more complex designs.
Contents of the Course Unit: Elastic Curve, Statically Indeterminate Systems in Bending / Normal Force Bending / Normal Force Torsion / Shear Force and Torsion / Bending and Torsion / Shear Bending / Column Buckling

Students gain the ability to use information about elastic curves, combined strength, and buckling. Students gain knowledge about structural limit states and analytical methods.
