OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS |
Objectives of the Course Unit: |
It is aimed to teach the topics of stress, strain, torsion and bending, which are necessary in engineering education, and to prepare students for the "Reinforced Concrete", "Steel Structures" and "Structural Analysis" courses. |
Contents of the Course Unit: |
It includes the following topics; internal forces and stress condition end the calculation strain, the relations between stress-strain, 1,2,3 axial stress states, the allowable stresses method, the principles of beam strength, the moment of inertia of the cross-sectional area, simple strength situations, axial normal force, the shear force, the bending moment, the torsional moment. |

To be able to solve stress and strain problems |
To be able to make the calculations of the section effects, design the bar systems |
