OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: To teach the basic concepts of art and art history, to teach works of art according to chronological periods, starting from prehistoric periods in the historical process, the social structure of the periods in which the works were made, the characteristics of the works and the terminology of art history.
Contents of the Course Unit: Terms related to architecture, painting, sculpture, handicrafts, and other subjects used in art history. The qualities and characteristics of artistic architecture in different periods in Anatolia.

They can use Art History terminology
They can learn and use the basic concepts of Art History.
They can express the arts of prehistoric times. Paleolithic and Mesolithic Ages, Neolithic and Chalcolithic Ages (Göbeklitepe, Çatalhöyük).
They may have information about historical ruins and structures from different periods in Anatolia.
They can compare the pre-Islamic civilizations that ruled in Anatolia.
They can distinguish the civilizations in Anatolia.
They can distinguish the art of Aegean civilizations.
They can explain Roman and Byzantine art in Anatolia.
