OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS |
|
---|---|
Objectives of the Course Unit: | The goal of the Introduction to Algorithms and Programming course is to equip students with algorithmic thinking skills and develop their coding skills in major programming languages. This course aims to equip students with the ability to systematically analyze a problem, develop accurate algorithms, and then apply these algorithms to practical coding in a chosen programming language. |
Contents of the Course Unit: | By learning programming constructs such as basic data structures, loops, conditionals, and functions, students will learn to produce creative and effective solutions to various real-world problems. |
KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to) |
---|
Students systematically analyze a problem using algorithms, develop solutions, and implement these solutions in a programming language. |
Students gain the ability to write functional, error-free programs using basic programming constructs (variables, data types, loops, conditionals, and functions). |
Students gain the ability to identify and troubleshoot errors encountered during the programming process and learn methods for testing and improving the accuracy of developed algorithms. |
