OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: With this lesson; It is aimed to provide students with information about language disorders seen in the early language acquisition period.
Contents of the Course Unit: This lesson; Models and definitions of Language Disorders,Typical stages of language development,Early Intervention: Definition and early intervention for language,Assessment in language disorders: Basic principles,Assessment in language disorders: Basic principles,Assessment in language disorders: Assessment tools and methods,Intervention in language disorders: Intervention Creating a Plan, Intervention in Language Disorders: Intervention elements/methods, Language Disorders: Delayed language and speech, Language disorders: Developmental language disorder (Specific language disorder), Language disorders: Autism, Early intervention models, Case examples and discussion, General review; Includes topics.

Explains the concepts of communication-language-speech.
Explains language and speech development in preverbal, infancy, preschool and early school years.
Explains the factors affecting language development.
Explains the language characteristics of children with intellectual disability, Down syndrome, Williams and Fragile X syndromes, Autism spectrum disorder, Hearing impairment, Specific language learning disability, rare disorders, Delayed language (receptive and expressive language disorder).
