OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: It is aimed at providing information and attitudes about the tests used in hearing measurements.
Contents of the Course Unit: Pure tone audiometry, speech audiometry, clinical masking, tympanometry and acoustic reflex measurements, advanced immittancemetric measurement methods. Tuning fork tests. Recruitment. SISI, Tone Decay. Basic principles of acoustic impedance. Acoustic impedance applications. Stapes reflexes. Reflex decay. Functional hearing loss (Pseudohypoacusis). Tests for Stenger, Lombard and other functional hearing loss.

Compares normal and diseased hearing systems with its acoustic, anatomical, physiological, developmental and social aspects.
Describes the test methods in peripheral and central hearing disorders.
Performs the test methods used in hearing measurement.
Describes the correlation between subjective test methods.
Performs basic objective and subjective audiological test techniques.
Describes how audiometric results can aid in the differential diagnosis of general auditory diseases.
