OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: Objective of the course is to help students gain the knowledge to explain the ergogenic aids used in sports and their usage areas; to arrange a nutrition program for the training and competition periods taking into consideration the characteristics of the specific sport.
Contents of the Course Unit: Contents of the course include the body composition and weight balance of the athletes, energy / macro-micro nutritional requirements, nutrition in training, ergogenic aid, sports and nutrition in special situations.

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to)

Define processes that improve performance in sports
Summarize general nutritional principles and nutritional sources for athletes
Recognize the ergogenic aids in sports and to discuss areas of practice and methods (
Examine the content of nutrition programs by considering individual differences and evaluate their appropriateness for performance status
Taking into account the characteristics of the sport branch, arrange nutrition programs for training and competition periods.
