OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: The objective of the course is to provide students to gain the knowledge to discuss the effects of recreation practices on different societies and cultures and to examine the socio-cultural effects of projects carried out in the field of Recreation.
Contents of the Course Unit: The content of the course includes; the conceptual and historical framework of the concept of culture, Ethnicity, and multiculturalism, macro environment approach to the phenomenon of Recreation, Recreation and culture, Recreation participation and social class, Participation and recreation in gender, Recreation in different societies, Socio-cultural analysis of recreation projects.

Describes the basic concepts of recreation and culture.
Explains the differences between national cultural recreation and international cultural recreation.
Associates social class and gender facts with the concept of recreation.
Discusses the effects of recreation practices on different societies and cultures.
Analyzes the socio-cultural impact of projects carried out in the field of recreation.
