OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: The objective of the course is to help students gain the ability and knowledge to explain the effects of the science of psychology on the development of sportive performance, to apply the mental training methods at the basic level and to use basic knowledge in psychology to increase the performances of the athletes.
Contents of the Course Unit: Contents of the course include; Field of sports psychology; personality, motivation, stress and anxiety; competition and challenge psychology, group and team dynamics, leadership and communication in sports, psychological skills training, attention, perception, focus, processes that negatively affect sport performance: exhausting, overwork, unhealthy behaviors, addiction, violence and aggression.

Define basic concepts related with sport psychology.
Explain the impact of science of psychology on the development of sportive performance.
Apply mental training methods at a basic level.
Use the basic knowledge in the field of psychology to improve athletes' performance.
