| Objectives: | The aim of this course is to provide fundamental and up-to-date knowledge of medical analytical techniques used in clinical laboratories, to teach the applications, benefits, and potential risks of these techniques, and to enable students to develop the ability to evaluate pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical processes in accordance with scientific and ethical principles |
| Content: | The course covers the definition of medical analysis; concepts of quality in clinical laboratories; clinical laboratory processes and sources of error; preparation of samples for analysis; enzyme analyses; blood and blood products, including blood donation; hematological analyses; urine analyses; analysis of body fluids; immunoassay techniques; nucleic acid extraction methods; polymerase chain reactions (PCR); blotting techniques; as well as histology and pathology laboratory techniques. |
