| Objectives: | This course aims to help students acquire the fundamental skills and strategies required for sight translation. It focuses on developing students' fluency in both languages, enabling them to prioritize message over structure, and equipping them to effectively render different text types (informative, descriptive, etc.) into the target language. The course also serves as a foundation for consecutive and simultaneous interpreting courses. |
| Content: | This course introduces students to the fundamental theories and techniques of sight translation, along with strategies such as paraphrasing, chunking, and speed reading, as well as the oral reading skills necessary for fluent and accurate delivery. Students reinforce these skills through applied exercises on texts selected from various fields, including law, health, education, and economics. |
