The purpose of this course is to enable students to apply the theoretical knowledge of translation and language skills acquired throughout their undergraduate education to real-world industry scenarios. The course aims to prepare students for the professional translation market by providing hands-on experience in a studio/workshop environment in analyzing specialized texts (legal, medical, technical, digital marketing, localization), effectively utilizing translation technologies (CAT tools, MTPE), and conducting editorial revision processes. |

This course encompasses practical workshop activities conducted in a simulated translation agency and editorial setting. The content includes formulating translation strategies based on client briefs, bidirectional translation of diverse specialized texts, transcreation, as well as working with translation memories and Machine Translation Post-Editing (MTPE). Additionally, peer evaluation, editing, proofreading, and building a final translation portfolio constitute the core components of the course. |
