AMAÇ VE İÇERİK

Amaç:  To increase students’ critical awareness of new developments in linguistics and related fields used in a range of ELT contexts. Introducing the nature of human languages To enable students to critically evaluate misconceptions about language in a range of ELT contexts To enable students to gain insight and understanding about linguistic issues appearing in the national media and stay current with important linguistic research.

describe the main ideas of how the concept of language is defined in linguistics.
analyse and interpret linguistic data on spoken, written and animal language.
transcribe speech into IPA and classify sound systems.
describe and explain basic concepts within Morphology and its subcomponents in particular.
indicate Syntactic analysis for English sentences.
interpret how Semantic meaning in a text correlate with the Syntax.
separate basic concepts within Semantic and Pragmatics.
