AMAÇ VE İÇERİK
Amaç:	At the end of this course students will be able to; define the concepts related to quantitative research with examples, to be able to define the paradigm-theory-method-research relation, to compare the qualitative and quantitative methods by comparing the orientations and their disadvantages, to make the relationship between the research question and the method, to know the relationship between the research types and the research method, to be able to analyze, to know the relevant statistical concepts and to apply SPSS, to create a research question and to make a research design on the basis of quantitative research process and to be able to internalise the importance of ethical principles.
İçerik:	Contents of the course include; Paradigm, theory, method and research concepts, paradigm based comparison of quantitative and qualitative methods, process and stages of quantitative research, variable types within the scope of necessary preparations for collecting data, measurement techniques, reliability and validity, basic statistical concepts in the analysis of quantitative data, mode, median, mean, frequency distribution, relationships between variables and tabulation of data, analysis of variance, correlation, regression and other statistical analysis techniques. SPSS applications are performed for quantitative data analysis. Published research reports are taken as concrete examples and analyzed. The importance of ethical principles is covered.

Knows the importance of paradigm-theory-method-research intertwined
Describes the basic concepts of quantitative methods in the framework of different research methods
Explains the types of research by giving examples
Interprets a scientific research report (articles, papers, theses, etc.) made by quantitative method
Applies the ethical rules to be followed when conducting research
Compares successful survey studies taking into account the concepts of quantitative method
Determines a research question related to his/her field and designs a research according to the quantitative research process
Develops positive attitudes based on knowledge and experience on the importance of scientific research
