OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS |

| Objectives of the Course Unit: | Students; by providing information about the properties and usage areas of the materials used in the building sector, interpreting the relationship of these materials with the interior space and interior architectural design to gain the ability to comprehend the importance of material selection and utilisation processes. |
| Contents of the Course Unit: | Recognition and classification of building materials, physical and chemical properties of materials; usage areas of basic building materials such as wood, stone, terracotta, concrete, metal, glass and current materials such as polymers and composites, binding materials and detail solutions and material selection for sustainable designs. |
