OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: This course aims to provide the student with the competence to recognize the structural construction of a building and find suitable materials to be used in interior space and on external walls.
Contents of the Course Unit: Contents of the course include the subjects such as general information about Building and basic concepts, information about structural and fine structure details concerning interior space and the external walls, reinforced concrete, steel and wooden construction systems, walls, floors, ceilings and utilizations in roofs, use of the materials (wood, metal, glass, plastic, composite, artificial and natural stones, etc.) to be used in interior space and on external walls.

Define the structural system of a building. (1)
Classify the structural systems of buildings. (4)
Defines the structural elements of the buildings.(3)
Gets an idea about the application stages by making application drawings about the system elements of the buildings. (3)
