OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: It is aimed to teach all the processes and techniques of news and interview type, to gain the necessary communication skills through news and interview technique.
Contents of the Course Unit: The course content includes various topics such as the distinction between news and reality, the person who produces the news: journalist and reporter, journalism idioms, news qualities, news value, news hierarchy, event and situation journalism, threshold watchdog and agenda setting, news components, news sources, elements of news and news writing techniques, interview technique, interview types, news interview, interview writing, elements to be considered in the interview.

Masters the basic processes of journalism.
Learns and can discuss the logic and function of journalism.
Knows the characteristics of the news and the criteria that determine its news value.
Can distinguish between event and situation reporting.
Learns and applies news writing techniques.
Learns interview technique.
Can distinguish between conversation, interview and reportage.
Knows the types of interviews, especially masters the news interview technique.
Can prepare interview transcripts.
Gains awareness of the processes and steps that need to be taken into consideration during the interview process.
