OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS |

| Objectives of the Course Unit: | The basic principles of podology include teaching medical diagnoses and treatment plans, following medical instructions and collaborating with physicians, and the use and cleaning of tools used in foot care. |
| Contents of the Course Unit: | This course covers the general fundamentals of podology, the definition, purpose, indications, and limitations of podological care. The role of the podologist in multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary teams, the working areas and organization of a podology unit are examined. Equipment used in podology, as well as sterilization and disinfection practices, are taught. The anamnesis and informed consent process, nail anatomy, pathological changes in the foot, symptoms, and risk factors are assessed. Midterm and practical exams are conducted throughout the course. |
