| Objectives of the Course Unit: | The aim is to teach the relationship between diabetes and foot health, and the foot problems that occur as a result of diabetes. |
| Contents of the Course Unit: | This course covers topics such as diabetes and its systemic effects, causes of diabetic foot syndrome, onychomycosis, entrapment neuropathies and osteomyelitis in diabetic foot syndrome, the mechanisms of formation of diabetic neuropathies in the foot, mechanisms for preventing the causes of diabetic foot syndrome, surgical and medical treatment of diabetic foot injuries, dermatological problems in diabetic foot, diabetic neuropathic osteoarthropathy and septic thrombosis, and the duties, authority, and responsibilities of a podiatrist in the treatment of diabetic foot. |
