OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: During the professional practice process, it is to provide students with basic knowledge and skills regarding anesthesia practices and to teach competencies for anesthesia management in surgeries performed in specific surgical fields.
Contents of the Course Unit: Preoperative evaluation, difficult airway, anesthesia in pediatric and geriatric patients, anesthesia outside the operating room, frequent surgical interventions (obstetrics, ophthalmology, orthopedics, plastic Surgery, ear nose and throat, urology, neurosurgery) anesthesia applications, blood transfusions in anesthesia applications, anesthesia applications in obese, hypertensive and diabetic patients and regional blocks.

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to)

The patient can be followed in the preoperative, peroperative and postoperative periods.
May transfuse blood and blood products during anesthesia applications.
Can perform anesthesia monitoring in pediatric and geriatric patients.
Anesthesia may be applied to particularly surgical patients.
Learns anesthesia applications in patients with comorbidities.
