OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS
Objectives of the Course Unit:	Ortopedik ortez-protez teknikerliği öğrencilerine, sık görülen alt ekstremite patolojilerinde kullanılan ortez yaklaşımlarına ilişkin temel prensipleri öğretmek, bazı ortezlerin ölçü, yapım ve uygulama aşamalarını gerçekleştirmelerini sağlamak, üretim, hastaya uygulama ve kullanım sırasında oluşabilecek sorunların çözümlenmesine yönelik beceriler kazandırmaktır.
Contents of the Course Unit:	Alt ekstremitenin temel anatomik ve biyomekanik dizilimi hakkındaki temel bilgiler ışığında, yaygın görülen patolojiler, ortez kullanımını gerektiren sorunların ortaya konması ve bu sorunların giderilmesine yönelik olarak kullanılan ortezlerin temel prensipleri, üretim aşamaları, hastaya uygulanması, kullanıma özgü bilgiler, modifikasyon, adaptasyon ve onarım konularındaki teorik ve uygulamaya yönelik bilgileri içermektedir.

Ayak, ayak bileği, diz ve kalçanın ortez endikasyonu gerektiren patolojilerinde uygulanacak ortezlerin tüm üretim aşamalarını tamamlar.
Gerektiğinde hastaya uygulama ve kullanım sırasında ortaya çıkan sorunları giderebilecek bilgi ve beceriye sahip olur.
Ayak, ayak bileği, diz ve kalça bölgelerinde meydana gelen patolojiler hakkında bilgi sahibi olur.
Dizlik gibi soft ortezler hakkında bilgi sahibi olur ve hasta üzerinde uygulamasını yapar.
Ortez yapımında kullanılan polipropilen, polietilen ve throlen termoplastikleri hakkında bilgi sahibi olur.
Plastazot ve poliform malzemelerini kullanır.
