| Objectives of the Course Unit: | The aim of this course is to provide students with fundamental concepts and laws of chemistry, and knowledge related to matter and the atom; to teach laboratory rules that must be followed, introduce the laboratory environment, develop skills in accurate weighing and proper pipetting techniques, enhance chemical thinking and problem-solving abilities, and improve the skills required to prepare solutions at various concentrations. |
| Contents of the Course Unit: | This course covers fundamental concepts and laws of chemistry; properties of matter and atoms; the periodic table and its properties; chemical bonding; laboratory safety rules; laboratory equipment; accurate weighing using analytical balances; pipetting techniques; solutions and their properties; calculations and preparation of solutions at various concentrations; properties of acids and bases; and pH measurement. |
