OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS |

Objectives of the Course Unit: | It is aimed to raise awareness about the anatomical and physiological foundations of the progression required for speech, the speech perception processes, and to provide information on evaluating the acoustic and physiological properties of speech. |
Contents of the Course Unit: | The importance of speech science for Speech and Language Therapists, respiration: breathing and sentence types, phonation, resonance, phonology, acoustic properties of speech sounds: consonants, acoustic properties of speech sounds: vowels, physiological measurements of speech sounds, hearing and perception, perception of speech sounds: consonants. acoustic cues, perception of speech sounds: acoustic cues in vowels. |
