OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: It is aimed to gain knowledge about review the development process of the nursing profession from past to present and the ethical principles.
Contents of the Course Unit: Historical Development of Nursing, Patient Care in the Early Ages, Patient Care in the Middle Ages, Patient Care in the New Ages, Patient Care in the Modern Age, Florence Nightingale and Modern Nursing, Nursing in Turkey, Nursing Schools, Nursing Education and Development in Turkey, Philosophy of Nursing.

Explains the establishment of modern nursing.
Explains the patient care functions from the early ages until today.
Examines the professional process of nursing.
Connects the past and future of the profession.
Explains the concepts of moral-ethic-deontology in the nursing profession.
Explains the importance of professional ethics.
Explains legal responsibilities.
Examines the organization of ethical boards.
Assesses the concept of right in health.
