OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: The aim of the course is to teach with artistic dimensions the art and the values of the civilizations and societies that lived from prehistoric times to the present.
Contents of the Course Unit: Basic concepts of art history, development stage of art, Turkish-Islamic and Byzantine Art Terminology, Art of Anatolian Civilizations, Mesopotamia and Greek, Iran, Egypt and Byzantine Art.

Define the concepts of Art and Art History.
Explain technical terms related to Turkish-Islamic Art and Byzantine Art.
Compare the differences between the civilizations that lived in Anatolia.
Explain the historical development and characteristics of the Mesopotomian Civilization arts.
List the architectural and ornamental features of Egypt, Iran, Greek and Byzantine Arts.
