OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS
Objectives of the Course Unit:	The objective of this course is to show the place of the classical Turkish literature in the history of literature, to comprehend the relationship between the cultural literary products, to gain the necessary knowledge and skills to recognize and understand the texts of the classical Turkish literature.
Contents of the Course Unit:	The historical development of the classical Turkish literature, its general characteristics, sources of the literature, and the general characteristics such as aruz prosody in Turkish literature texts, literary arts, rhyme and repeated word.

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to)
List the types and forms of Classical Turkish Literature.
Practice the characteristics of Aruz prosody, literary arts, rhyme and repeated word form on texts.
Examine the emergence of the Classical Turkish literature.
Relate Islamic civilization and Arabic and Persian literatures, influenced by the formation of Old Turkish Literature with the characteristics of Classical Turkish Literature.
Argue the methods of the study of Turkish literature and the study of the Classical Turkish Literature.
