OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: To teach definition and importance of the machine, project allowing the feasibility of machine elements, the classification of machine elements according to function, material selection and calculation of strength, design of machine elements for the granting of engineering formation.
Contents of the Course Unit: Classification of machine elements according to their functions ve calculation of strength, machine screws used in coupling, bolts, anchor bolts, welded units.

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to)

Define basic characteristics specific to machine elements.
Can examine project-specific cycles providing feasibility of machinery and elements.
Analyzes behaviors of the machine elements under static and dynamic.
Define screws, categorize and choose.
Design a system as screw jacks comprised screw elements.
Select machine elements according to their functions.

2 - Definition of the machine, importance, classification of simple machines, project cycles allows the formation of the system. -
3 - Information about overall strength and engineering materials used in the construction of machine components. -
4 - Manufacturing methods applied in the shaping of machine elements. -
5 - The combination of machine elements, definitions, classifications. Connections made ​​using with the machine tool elements. -
6 - Screw assemblies, the definition of screw, classification, terms forming screws. -
7 - Rules of technical drawing of screw, production methods of materials wit bolt and nut. -
8 - MID-TERM EXAM -
9 - Calculation of the screws, screw sizing, examination of a auto blocked condition, calculation of yield. -
10 - Problem solutions belongs to screws. -
11 - Merge with pin and bolt, classification, the sample applications and calculations belong to pin. -
