Objectives of the Course Unit: | The aim of the course is to provide students with the knowledge to explain the historical process of physical education and sports and to interpret the social effects of processes related to physical education and sports discipline based on cross-cultural differences. |
Contents of the Course Unit: | The course content covers the concepts of games, physical education, and sports; movement and culture in different societies; 19th-century modern sports and their social impacts; the Ancient Olympics and the Modern Olympic Games; and the historical development of sports in Turkey. |
