OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: This course introduces students to the fundamental principles of machining and the machining processes used in the industrial field. It also aims to equip students with the ability to apply their knowledge and skills.
Contents of the Course Unit: It covers the subjects of historical and economic importance of manufacturing, giving general information about manufacturing methods and examining their types, basic manual operations, measuring and control, drilling operations, knowing drilling machines and connecting them on drilling machines, reaming and reaming types, die types and the sequence of operations in die making, knowing milling cutters and examining milling cutter types, dividing operations in milling, cutting tool information and tool selection, cutting speed and revolution calculation, lathe types and knowing the parts of lathe machines, basic turning operations.

Knows the characteristics of machining methods.
Recognizes and uses machine tools.
It eliminates errors that may occur in machine tools.
Recognizes cutting tools and knows their operation.
Processes the workpiece on CNC machines.
