OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: To provide students with the ability to take body measurements and prepare basic body patterns. To enable model analysis and model application studies on the basic body pattern.
Contents of the Course Unit: It includes taking measurements on the body and making measurement calculations, basic body pattern drawing and applications, basic body pattern drawing without darts, basic body and arm template pattern drawing without darts, dart shifts, closing allowance and collar drawing, sleeve and cuff drawings, and model application studies on the body with and without darts.

Evaluates pattern preparation methods in the ready-made clothing industry.
Works on basic body patterns, sleeves, collars, cuffs and placket.
Applies a model on the basic body pattern.
