OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: By explaining the theoretical basis of health communication, it is aimed to provide the students with an understanding of the interdisciplinary feature of the field and the information about the evaluation of health communication activities with a critical approach.
Contents of the Course Unit: Introduction to health communication, Health communication concept, Health communication theories and models, Health communication campaign process, Media and health, Health literacy, Critical health communication.

Examines the health discourse in the media with a health communication perspective.
Explain health communication.
Compare basic theories and models in health communication.
Explain the factors that prevent communication.
