OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: The objective of the course is to provide the students the knowledge to compile the statistical data, use this data, problem solving and the assessment of this data.
Contents of the Course Unit: Contents of the course include; introduction of basic statistical concepts, Central tendency measurements, variability measurements, probability and probability calculation, intermittent and continuous distributions, binomial and poisson distributions, normal distribution and continuous normal distribution methods and applications.

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to)

Defines the basic concepts of statistics.
Recognizes the dependent and independent variable in regression analysis.
Recognizes normal, symmetric and asymmetric distributions.
Applies the hypothesis tests for a single population.
Applies hypothesis testing for population ratio.
Calculates confidence intervals for parameters.
