OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: It is aimed to provide information and skills on the role of occupational therapy within teamwork in rehabilitation, basic occupational therapy assessment methods in performance areas, and the development of appropriate occupational therapy approaches.
Contents of the Course Unit: The role of work and occupational therapy (ergotherapy) in team work, assessment and training of daily living activities, principles and practices of transfer activities, hand, sense, sensory integration evaluations and treatment, principles of occupational therapy in different problems.

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to)

Describes the general performance in occupational therapy (OT).
Conducts basic assessments in occupational therapy performance areas.
Relates the fundamental principles of occupational therapy to patients with different problems.
Applies occupational therapy approaches at a basic level according to assessment results.
Adjusts positioning and the use of assistive devices based on physical impairments encountered during transfers.
