OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: Aim to perform stoma care nurse modern role and functions in determining the care requirements and rehabilitation of stoma patients.
Contents of the Course Unit: İnclude care, knowledge and practices in stoma complications that may develop, the role of the stoma care nurse in stoma care, the stoma effects on individual.

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to)

Explain the basic concepts and principles related to stoma.
Stoma makes care decision and manages care.
Define the care requirements of stoma patient.
Prevent potential problems and complications in stoma patients.
Understand the importance of continuity of care and education in patients with stoma.
