OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: The objective of the course is to provide the students with the knowledge and skills to prepare the adapted physical activity program that can explain the needs related to the physical activity applications for individuals with special needs.
Contents of the Course Unit: Contents of the course include; The basic concepts of sports for individuals with disabilities, reasons of disability, the characteristics of disabled individuals, the place and importance of sports in the education of disabled youth, motor skills tests, competitions for disabled people, physical activity programs for the disabled and sports activities for different groups of disability.

Define concepts related to sport activities that are implemented for individuals with special needs.
Describe the role and importance of sports in the education of disabled individuals.
Explain different types of disability and their characteristics.
Describe the sports organizations for the disabled in the world and Turkey.
Apply physical activities appropriate to the characteristics of the disability group.
Apply motor skills tests for individuals with special needs.
Examine the characteristics of physical activity and sports activities that are applied to individuals with special needs.
Prepare a physical activity program for individuals with special needs.
