OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: The aim of this course is to teach Data Collection Tools in Scientific Research in Recreation, Data Collection and Analysis in Scientific Research in Recreation, Reporting and Presentation of Scientific Research Project in Recreation.
Contents of the Course Unit: Scientific Research Topics in Recreation, Defining the Problem in Scientific Research in Recreation. Establishing Hypotheses in Scientific Research in Recreation, Choosing Quantitative or Qualitative Methods, Selecting the Population and Sample, Determining Appropriate Methods for Research.

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to)

Can explain what scientific research means in recreation.
Distinguishes examples of qualitative research in recreation.
Distinguishes examples of quantitative research in recreation.
Can define the research problem.
It expresses the research problem in the form of a research question.
Can create research hypotheses.
Can determine a research method appropriate to the research topic.
It determines a population and sample suitable for the purpose of the research. Decides on the research method (qualitative/quantitative) appropriate to the research purpose.
Can collect data in accordance with the research purpose and method. Knows data collection techniques suitable for qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
Collects research data with a measurement tool.
Can analyze the collected data.
Knows the analysis of qualitative data. Knows the analysis of quantitative data.
Knows how to use at least one package program for data analysis.
Can report research findings and results. Writes the research results according to a determined guideline.
