OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: This course aims to teach the terminology used in archaeology and art history sciences and to provide recognition of the art of civilizations which continued in Anatolia until the Middle Ages.
Contents of the Course Unit: Contents of the course include understanding the relationship between terminology used in the fields of Archaeology and Art History as a discipline; examples in the fields of painting, sculpture, architecture and ceramics, different materials and techniques, artists, art conservators, art institutions and art works.

Express the terminology used in archaeology and art history.
Comprehend the properties of buildings and settlements found in Anatolia in prehistoric times.
Explain the general style properties of arts available in Anatolia until the Middle Ages.

Comprehend the decorative aspects and terminology of architectural structures
Use the art terminology of the architectural structures of Anatolian Seljuk period.
