OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: t is aimed for students to learn the general outline of Turkish and world aviation history, to gain knowledge about the current state of the aviation industry in Turkey and around the world, and to recognize aircraft and airports as well as understand their basic characteristics.
Contents of the Course Unit: General information about the work, inventions, and achievements of aviators in Turkish and world aviation history; the fields of activity within the aviation industry (operations, services, maintenance, and manufacturing); the functions, classes, and types of aircraft; national and international aviation organizations; and the capacities and categories of national and international airports.

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to)

The history of civil aviation, fundamental concepts, and the structure of the aviation sector can be explained.
Knowledge about air transport systems, aircraft classifications, and airport structures can be acquired.
National (SHGM) and international (EASA, ICAO) aviation regulations and codes can be recognized.
Aviation communication, the aviation alphabet, and basic operational procedures can be applied and interpreted.
