OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: To introduce students to the fundamental concepts and theories for understanding the behavior of individuals and groups; to equip them with the ability to comprehend and analyze the social, psychological, and cultural dimensions of human behavior, and to apply these in everyday life and in the workplace.
Contents of the Course Unit: Factors influencing individual behavior; personality theories; motivation and needs; perception and learning processes; communication and interaction; groups and group dynamics; leadership and management concepts; behavior and culture in organizations; applications of behavioral sciences in business and social life.

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to)

Students define the core concepts and major theories of behavioral sciences and explain the relationships among them.
Students compare theories explaining individual and group behavior (personality, motivation, perception, attitudes, group dynamics) and discuss their similarities and differences.
Students identify behavioral problems in a real or case-based scenario, analyze probable causes, and develop evidence-based solutions.
Students design an appropriate intervention/communication plan by applying conflict management, negotiation, and effective communication techniques in line with ethical principles.
