OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: This course aims to provide students the philosophy, values, principle of knowledge and functions of social service as a profession and a discipline, the role and functions of authorities of social service in fulfilling these functions and to introduce basic contents of social service as a profession and a discipline.
Contents of the Course Unit: Contents of the course include keynotes and fields of social service, basics of social service concept, groundings in relation to the knowledge of social service.

Express development of Social Service in the World and in Turkey.
Interpret concepts of democracy, human rights and social justice from the point of Social Service.
Define aim, objective, value, concept and philosophy of the discipline of Social Service
Express social service theories, social service methods and techniques
Categorize social service with other disciplines
Analyze social service for family and children, teenagers, elderly and disabled
Improve basic skills related to the practice of Social Service
