OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: To provide knowledge and skills related to the basic operations of deposit and participation banking within the Turkish banking system.
Contents of the Course Unit: Financial system, markets and institutions, types of banks, deposit and credit operations, other banking activities, participation banking, repo-reverse repo.

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to)

Understands the structure and functions of the financial system, financial markets, and financial institutions within the framework of the Turkish banking system.
Explains and applies the basic operations of deposit and participation banking, including deposit, credit, and other core banking transactions.
Analyzes interest and profit distribution mechanisms such as deposit and credit interest calculations, and evaluates their impact on banking performance.
Compares conventional and participation banking practices, interpreting their operational and regulatory differences within the Turkish financial system.
