AMAÇ VE İÇERİK

Amaç: The aim of this lesson is to give a general knowledge about mental disorders.
İçerik: This lesson includes principals of psychiatric interview, parts of mental status examination, mental disorders,their etiology and clinical characteristics, general treatment methods and psychiatric semiology.

The student will be able to define the parts of a mental status examination like thought assessment and orientation. (Bloom’s 4)
Summarize the clinical features, course and treatment of depressive disorders. (Bloom’s 2)
Explain the diagnostic criteria of anxiety disorders in terms of DSM-V. (Bloom’s 4)
The student will be able to tell at least two factors (e.g.the biological factors and psychosocial factors) in the etiology of mood disorders, schizophrenia spectrum disorders and anxiety disorders.(Bloom’s 2)
The student will be able to make differential diagnosis between several anxiety disorders when given a case example.(Bloom’s 4)
Summarize the clinical features, course and treatment of bipolar disorders. (Bloom’s 2)
Distinguish Psychosis from Neurosis. (Bloom's 4)
