AMAÇ VE İÇERİK
Amaç:	This course is aimed to introduce methods of analysis and design of foundation systems and their role in the civil engineering professional work.
İçerik:	The course contains an introduction to geotechnical engineering, site investigation and in-situ soil tests, shallow foundations, bearing capacity calculations, use of SPT testing, settlement, the analysis of isolated footing, combined and mat foundation, deep foundations, pile groups, reinforced concrete design of footing.

To be able to identify geotechnical engineering systems and site investigation work
To be able to gain knowledge of basic principles for geotechnical engineering
To be able to learn established geotechnical methods to analyze and solve various foundation engineering problems
To be able to apply standard geotechnical methods and use engineering judgment for the design of various foundation systems
