OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: The aim of this course is to enable students to analyze the relationships between the hotel building located in the city and its users and surroundings, develop design solutions that meet functional requirements, create a design concept, visualize this concept using 2D and 3D tools, and acquire the ability to defend their work using professional presentation techniques.
Contents of the Course Unit: In this course, students will comprehensively analyze the spatial functions of a multi-story hotel located in the city center. Considering user needs and environmental relationships, solutions will be developed for the functioning of the spaces. Existing structural conditions will be carefully examined, and the data obtained will be effectively transferred to the design process. Students will create design concepts and materialize these concepts through sketch studies and 2D-3D modeling. In addition, detailed drawings will be prepared at various scales within the scope of the project, and the technical and aesthetic dimensions of architectural design will be addressed holistically. Throughout the course, students will be expected to document their designs in accordance with professional presentation standards and defend them before a jury.

Create a functional spatial diagram for the multi-story hotel project located in the city center.
Explain the concept development process for hotel design by visualizing it.
Based on user needs and environmental factors, the hotel's functional design can be resolved with the help of sketches and models.
Identify existing structural conditions and integrate them into the design process.
Design the hotel project using technical drawings and 3D models at scales of 1/50, 1/20, 1/10, and 1/5.
Effectively defend the design before the jury using professional presentation techniques.

Explaining the spatial, functional, and contextual features of the multi-story hotel building with landscaping in the city center; discussing user, function, and environmental relationships through case studies; and preparing Scenario and Analysis sheets. 2 Defining the user profile and creating a conceptual mood board. Reviewing research files; addressing the scenario creation process based on the hotel’s user profile, functional requirements, and environmental data; defining the design problem through site analysis and operational diagrams; and preparing Concept and Material sheets. 3 Organizing circulation diagrams and drafting 1/50 scale floor plans.
