| Objectives of the Course Unit: | This course aims to provide students with fundamental knowledge and general practical skills in basic chemistry concepts; molecular structures and formulas; the periodic table; chemical reactions; preparation of solutions and concentration calculations; and the concepts of acids and bases and pH. |
| Contents of the Course Unit: | This course covers fundamental chemistry concepts; the structure of matter and the atom; molecular structures and formulas; the periodic table; chemical bonding; chemical reactions and balancing equations; solutions (solute–solvent, concentration); principles of solution preparation and dilution; the concepts of acids and bases and pH; as well as calculations involving the mole, molarity, and percent concentration. |
