| Objectives of the Course Unit: | Objective: To enable students to recognize the eye as the organ of sight, and to understand visual quality, refractive errors, and the principles of correcting these errors. |
| Contents of the Course Unit: | Content: This course aims to introduce the refractive media of the eye, provide information about the pupil and its functions and anomalies, and explain the mechanism of vision. It covers accommodation, dioptric changes during accommodation, presbyopia and correction of other accommodation disorders, ametropia, types of ametropia, hyperopia, types of hyperopia, myopia, types of myopia, astigmatism, types of astigmatism, anisometropia, types of anisometropia, anisoconia, types of anisoconia, surgical correction of refractive errors, comparison of correction of refractive errors with glasses, contact lenses, and surgery, low vision, and rehabilitation for the visually impaired. |
