OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: The aim of this course is to give information about the preparation, protection, indications and complications of blood and blood products.
Contents of the Course Unit: Basic Hematology Information, Approach to anemia and anemia, Thrombocytopenia and coagulation disorders, Preparation and preservation of blood and blood products, Indications of transfusion of blood and blood products, Complications of blood and blood products transfusion, Hemostasis in cardiovascular surgery and hemostasis, Cardiovascular surgery transfusion and reactions, Anticoagulants , Methods for idealizing heparin and protamine applications in cardiac surgery patients, Use of antifibrinolytic agents (aprotinin, epsilon aminocaproic acid) recombinant FVII preparations, Problem solving with case studies Problem solving with case examples, Innovations and guidelines on blood conservation techniques
