OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: The aim of the course is to teach the student the historical conditions that prepared the Köktürk period, the basic works of the Köktürk Turkish period, the Turkish runic script, the place of Köktürk in the history of the Turkish language, the phonetic and morphological characteristics of Köktürk, and the reading, examination and expression of sample texts from three important monuments in Turkish.
Contents of the Course Unit: The course includes the historical conditions that prepared the Köktürk Turkish period, the basic testaments of the Köktürk period, the Turkish runic script, the place of Köktürk in the history of the Turkish language, the phonetic and morphological characteristics of Köktürk and the reading and analysis of sample texts from three important monuments.

Remember the historical conditions that prepared the Köktürk Turkish period and the main works of the Köktürk language period.
Recognize the Turkish runic script.
Express the place of the Köktürk period in Turkish language history in their own words.
Examine the phonetic and morphological features of Köktürk Turkish with the original letters (signs) of the texts.
Compare the phonetic and morphological features of Köktürk languages with phonetic and morphological features of contemporary Turkish.
