OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: The aim of this course is for students to comprehend the place of the Fecr-i Ati community in the history of Turkish literature and to learn the importance of the National Literature Movement and Yeni Lisan article and Genç Kalemler magazine for Turkish literature.
Contents of the Course Unit: Within the content of the course, Ahmet Haşim, one of the immortal figures of Turkish literature, the Fecr-i Âti Encümen-i Edebiyesi Nizamnamesi and the representatives of Genç Kalemler magazine, the Yeni Lisan article and details about its importance in terms of our literary history are included. In addition, both other artists of the Fecr-i Âti group and examples of other genres other than poetry within the National literature movement are also included in the study.

Remember the social, cultural, political and economic developments that paved the way for the formation of Turkish literature during the periods of Fecr-i Âti and National Literature.
Distinguish the leading representatives and works of Turkish literature in the periods of Fecr-i Âti and National Literature
Compare the development processes of different literary genres that have entered Turkish literature in the period of Fecr-i Âti and National Literature, based on sample texts.
Assess to which movement or school the works of prose or poetry belong to the modernization period of Turkish literature.
Plan the methods to be adopted in the analysis of literary texts.
