OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: This course aims to improve aptitude for analysing the thoughts of the thinkers being educated in Turkish-Islamic culture, examining the dimensions of the cultural, political and social effects of their thoughts and determining the reflections of their thoughts on the recent history and the present.
Contents of the Course Unit: Contents of the course include the foundations of Turkish-Islamic thought, the concept of state and individual, thinkers who influenced Turkish Islamic thought in order to give theoretical point of view about the history of Turkish-Islamic Thought and thinkers who have an important place in Turkish-Islamic thought.

Explain the history and sources of Turkish-Islamic Thought.
Relate between the products of Turkish-Islamic thought.
Summarize the contributions of Turkish-Islamic science and thought world to human sciences and natural sciences.
Relate the concepts and trends related to Islamic thought and the thoughts of thinkers with the contemporary Turkish Islamic thought.
Interpret the contemporary issues in the Turkish-Islamic world from the perspective of Turkish-Islamic thought.
